What is an Electronic Check (ACH) transaction?

ACH is the acronym for Automated Clearing House. An ACH transaction is an electronic transaction that takes place on a merchant's site and is then transferred to our WebInvent secure servers. We then forward the transaction information to the Federal Reserve Bank with instructions to debit the consumer's checking and/or savings account. After that procedure takes place, the funds are electronically placed in the merchant's account.
